School Newspaper

Start the Presses!

We are pleased to announce that Sacred Heart School will be starting its first all school Student Newspaper.  The Newspaper will highlight stories about our school, parish and local community.  Articles will be written by students and will be published on-line every other week. Newspaper staff editors will be assisted by Mr. Tribble and Mrs. Kirwan and technically supported by Bob Dugoni, Laura Capestany and Nancy Schoeggl.

Working on the student newspaper turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. It has led me to a love of words, writing, and a career I love. Beyond all of that, it was a lot of fun!  – Bob Dugoni

Newspaper Editorial Staff meetings will occur once a week during lunch in Mrs. Kirwan’s room. Editorial Staff will eat lunch together on Mondays starting in January. Editorial Staff will be made up of the following categories:

Newspaper Editorial Staff

Department Editors: Grades 6-8th Students.

Will be in charge of a specific department of the newspaper such as sports, current events, student & teacher profiles, classroom news etc. To be considered for this position the student must fill out an application.

Artistic Directors: Grades 6-8th Students.

Will help layout the newspaper and learn the technical aspects of design and publishing the newspaper. To be considered for this position the student must fill out an application.

Newspaper writers

Student contributors: Any and all students can contribute an article or drawing for publication by emailing the article to Editorial Staff or turning into the school office.
