Extra Minutes Survey – Please Complete the Survey by May 18th
Please Complete the Survey by May 18th
Thank you to everyone who has participated in the extra minutes survey. We are keeping this important, two-question survey about where to add extra time next year open through Friday, May 18th.
In a few of the completed surveys, there were some questions about why we need the extra time, especially since some schools seem to do their work in the same time or less. The answer is that at Sacred Heart School our goal is to give your child a complete education, not just meeting the minimum. We educate the whole child, with extra time for religion instruction and an ongoing commitment to music, art, and drama for all of our students (which some schools cut out in tough times), as well as Spanish instruction in grades 1-8 (which most schools do not have).
Spirit Week is Next Week!
All next week, we are running a food drive in support of the WIN Food Bank here in Bellevue. Students who bring in food can put their contributions in the box for their family “color” in the front lobby. All donations will be counted toward spirit points for Field Day. The most-needed items are: canned vegetables- corn, peas, & green beans; canned soup, canned beans- chili, refried, black, kidney, baked, and top ramen.
Spirit Week Themed Days:
- Monday, May 21, is Neon Day (wear your brightest colors)
- Tuesday, May 22, is College/High School Day (wear clothes that support your favorite High School or University)
- Wednesday, May 23, is Blast from the Past Day (dress from any decade that occurred before this one even into the 1600s)
- Thursday, May 24, is Crazy Outfit Day (wear the worst combination of clothes you can think of)
- Friday, May 25, FIELD DAY!!, wear your family color!
Volunteers for SHS Field Day – Friday, May 25th
This year the SHS Field Day will be held on Friday, May 25th from 8:30am to 3:00pm. SHS Field day is a wonderful day of activities. The student families get to compete in a variety of fun events (volleyball, capture the flag, running relay, long jump, water relay, softball, soccer, kickball, and ping pong ball relay). It is a fantastic opportunity for the students to show their “Sportsmanship” and “Team Spirit” and for the parents to volunteer and participate in the fun!
We are looking for over 50 parent volunteers to assist with the day’s activities, be event runners, and serve lunch.
