Religious Education

Sacred Heart’s curriculum is rich in Catholicity. Catholic identity is developed in the religion program and integrated throughout the school curriculum. Students learn within a Catholic context through school liturgies, preparation for Eucharist and Reconciliation, Peace Makers, DUSO, Second Step, and Steps to Respect.   Click here to view the “Student Learning Expectations and Benchmarks” from the Seattle Archdioceses.

Daily emphasis is placed on prayer, religious doctrine and service to others. The Sacred Heart faith community extends into the parish and is evidenced by student involvement in Sunday liturgies, through altar serving, nursery duty, serving coffee and doughnuts, choirs and lecturing for Masses.

The pastor, principal, parish staff and parents all play a role in the spiritual life of the school. The pastor and the principal presides at liturgies.
