SHS Young Authors Convention is January 30th

On this day, students will have the opportunity to meet, see, chat with and learn from several authors. We are hosting three different authors in person, two authors by Skype and a favorite Seattle AM News Anchor for years.

Elizabeth Rusch is an award-winning book author, magazine writer, editor, writing teacher and speaker who lives in Portland, Oregon. She has written numerous nonfiction subjects ranging from volcanology to the life of Maria Anna Mozart. Rusch has also written several works of fiction including the picture book A Day with No Crayons and the graphic novel Muddy Max: The Mystery of Marsh Creek.  Her books are inspired by stories of exploration and discovery, stories that have been overlooked by history, and stories that grapple with persistent questions. https://www.elizabethrusch.com/

Kim Baker moved around a lot as a kid, which taught her two things: silliness is a great way to make pals, and goofy people make the best friends. She lives in Seattle with her family and still goofs off. A lot. Pickle is her first book and was named one of the Top 5 Northwest Children’s Books by KING 5 and was included in the 2018 Global Reading Challenge. www.kimbakerbooks.com/
