Prayer To The Sacred Heart
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, source of all goodness and healing, you have loved me from all eternity. Now I ask for the grace to love you in return. Please increase within me your gifts of faith, hope and love. I offer you my heart, wounded by sin, crippled by unkindness; but not beyond your power to make me whole again. Jesus I ask that you continue to touch me, calm me, and heal me. Teach me to be gentle and humble of heart, to be patient and loving.
In you I love and move and have being. In you I am healed. Keep me close to you and the life and wholeness that you bring. When I stray, give me the grace to accept your invitation to return to you. Glory to you, O most Sacred Heart; glory and praise and thanksgiving today and every day. Amen.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in you. (say 3 times)
Daily Prayer To The Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart of Jesus today I wish to live in You, in Your grace, in which
I desire of all costs to preserve. Keep me from sin and strengthen my will
by helping me to keep watch over my senses, my imagination, and my heart.
Help me to correct my faults which are the source of sin. I beg you to do this,
O Jesus, through Mary, Your Immaculate Mother.
Promises Of The Sacred Heart
Twelve promises to persons having devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which were communicated by Christ said St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in a private revelation in 1675:
1. I will give them all the graces necessary in their state in life.
2. I will establish peace in their homes.
3. I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
4. I will be their secure refuge during life and, above all, in death.
5. I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and the infinite ocean of mercy.
7. By devotion to My Heart tepid souls shall grow fervent.
8. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
9. I will bless every place where a picture of My Heart shall be set up and honored.
10. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
11. Those who promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to a blotted out.
12. I will grant the grace a final penitence to those who communicate (receive Holy Communion) on the first Friday of nine consecutive months.
Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Thee I consecrate and offer up my person and my life, my actions, trials, and sufferings, that my entire being may henceforth only be employed in loving, honoring and glorifying Thee. This is my irrevocable will, to belong entirely to Thee, and to do all for Thy love, renouncing with my whole heart all that can displease Thee.
I take Thee, O Sacred Heart, for the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my frailty and insconstancy, the reparation for all the defects of my life, and my secure refuge at the hour of my death. Be Thou, O Most Merciful Heart, my justification before God Thy Father, and screen me from His anger which I have so justly merited. I fear all from my own weakness and malice, but placing my entire confidence in Thee, O Heart of Love, I hope all from Thine infinite Goodness. Annihilate in me all that can displease or resist Thee. Imprint Thy pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget Thee or be separated from Thee.
I beseech Thee, through Thine infinite Goodness, grant that my name be engraved upon Thy Heart, for in this I place all my happiness and all my glory, to live and to die as one of Thy devoted servants.
. — St. Margaret Mary Alacoque
I, (name) give myself to the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ, and I consecrate to Him my person and my life, my actions, pains, and sufferings, so that henceforth I shall be unwilling to make use of any part of my being except for the honor, love, and glory of the Sacred Heart.
My unchanging purpose is to be all His and to do all things for the love of Him while renouncing with all my heart whatever is displeasing to Him.
I take you, O Sacred Heart, as the only object of my love, the guardian of my life, the assurance of my salvation, the remedy of my weakness and inconstancy, the atonement for all my faults, and the sure refuge at my death.
O Heart of goodness, be my justification before God the Father, and turn away from me the strokes of his righteous anger. O Heart of love, I place all my trust in you, for I fear everything from my own wickedness and frailty, but I hope for all things from your goodness and bounty.
Consume in me all that can displease you or resist your holy Will. Let your pure love inprint you so deeply upon my heart that I shall nevermore be able to forget you or be separated from you. May I obtain from all your loving kindness the grace of having my name written in you, for I desire to place in you all my happiness and all my glory, living and dying in virtual bondage to you.
