Pastoral Council

Parish Mission Statement
Sacred Heart Parish,
Striving to grow in relationship with God
And one another through
Prayer, sacraments, and service,
Is a welcoming community
Rooted in Gospel values.
We live the Catholic faith by sharing our
Time, talent, and resources
With those who hunger for
Insight and understanding,
Who seek healing and compassion,
And who yearn for justice and love.

Sacred Heart’s Pastoral Council works in consultation with our pastor, Fr. Pat Ritter, to provide leadership and direction for parish committees, commissions, ministries, staff, and parishioners. We are guided in our decision-making by the Holy Spirit and by our Parish Mission Statement.

The Pastoral Council is composed of a body of parishioners, each of whom serves a rotating three-year term. Members are selected through a prayerful discernment process that begins in late winter; our membership reflects the diversity of our parish community. We are also advised by our Pastoral Assistant for Administration, and the Finance Council Chair. Our recording secretary serves in a volunteer capacity.

Meetings
We meet monthly from September through May. Throughout the year, we invite representatives from parish committees, commissions, ministries, and staff to attend our monthly meetings and report their activities, communicate their goals, and seek our assistance.

If you have a concern and would like to address the council, please contact the current Chair, John Merle, at least two weeks before a scheduled meeting.
